How Kaasi handles your data

A few things to know.

Is Kaasi free?

Yes. Kaasi is free to use, with every current feature included. Voluntary donations support development.

Does Kaasi work offline?

Yes. You can record and review your finances offline. An internet connection is needed for initial setup, updates and optional cloud sync.

Can I install Kaasi on my phone or computer?

Yes. Install Kaasi from a supported browser to open it like an app. We recommend Google Chrome for the best installation experience. No app store is required.

Does Kaasi connect to my bank?

No. You enter and manage your records yourself. Kaasi does not access your bank account or read your messages. We respect your privacy: your private banking details and messages stay private.

Can I track Sri Lankan rupees, credit cards and debts?

Yes. Kaasi supports tracking in LKR, with cash and bank accounts, budgets, credit cards, debts, receivables and installments.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed for local tracking. Google sign-in is available for optional cloud sync across devices.

Can I export and back up my records?

Yes. Export your records as a JSON backup and import them into Kaasi when needed. You can also export monthly PDF reports. Keep backups somewhere safe, especially before clearing browser data or changing devices.

Can I track subscriptions and upcoming payments?

Yes. Keep track of recurring subscriptions and their renewals, and review upcoming payments so you can plan for what is due next.

What happens if I clear my browser data or change devices?

Clearing browser data can remove records stored on that device. Export a JSON backup before clearing data or changing devices, then import it into Kaasi when needed. If you use optional cloud sync, sign in on your other device to sync your cloud records. Clearing local browser data does not delete your cloud copy.
